The Upper Crust | Penfield, NY

We are very excited to share some big news with you: WE’RE MOVING! After experiencing over 4 successful years at our Harris Road location, it is time to establish a more pronounced presence in the community. Our new shop will be located in the Penfield 4 Corners area, in the building formerly known as the “Sugar Shack” ice cream parlor. It is right on Penfield Road/Route 441, next to Joey’s Pasta House. We hope this will be more convenient to our network of clients, as it is more central and only about 4 minutes from Route 490.

Don’t come visit us yet, though! We’re currently in the remodeling stages, which will continue for several more weeks. We are planning an awesome Open House event in mid-October, when our remodel is complete. So stay tuned! If you are on our mailing list, you will receive further information or you can check back here on our website.

We will continue taking special orders as before, but we are also planning some very fun options for spontaneous walk-in clients! We will have several display cases with different items available for on-the-spot purchase: 10 over-the-top flavors of jumbo cupcakes, our famous cut-out cookies for sure, and perhaps some other options as well. It will have a little NYC-Crumbs-Bakeshop feel (see picture below), as they have been part of our inspiration.

Special orders will be available for pickup as usual, by-appointment-only Mondays - Saturdays. In addition, the shop will be open to the public Fridays and Saturdays (exact hours to be determined). We will be closed on Sundays.

Happy Independence Day Weekend!

Whew! We were quite busy in June due to cake requests for graduations, birthdays, showers, and other special summer events. Thank you for your continued support of the Upper Crust bakery! We are so grateful for the [sometimes overwhelming, in the best possible sense!] enthusiasm and request of our products. We look forward to continue making delicious and beautiful cakes, that make your special day even more memorable.

We are now ready to take on orders for July & August, so contact us anytime. The following week[ends] are available. . . .

Please note: We are now completely booked through June 30. As much as we enjoy making cakes, and so appreciate your faithful business, we do have a limited order capacity which has been reached for this month. We are very sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment!

If you contact us about your advance order already placed for June, we will be in touch as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will not be responding to phone or email inquires until after June 30. However, DO feel free to email us or leave a voicemail if you would like information for future occasion (July and beyond). We will be happy to be in contact after June 30, and we certainly appreciate your patience.

Pickup Information/General Hours:

Generally speaking, we prefer to schedule our weekend orders for pickups on Friday afternoons (between 1:00-5:00pm) or Saturday mornings (between 9:00-11:00am). Occasionally we can accommodate alternate times if needed. We are closed on Sundays. Of course, you may place an order for a weekday pickup if necessary for your occasion.

We appreciate your interest in the Upper Crust, and we look forward to discussing the best option for your event! We would love to be a part of making your occasion even more memorable, by providing an extraordinary cake that tastes as good as it looks.

Taste of Penfield ~ Friday, June 4

at Veterans’ Memorial Park ~  3100 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield (behind the Town Hall)

The 2010 Amphitheater season will begin with a great weekend of music and food, starting Friday evening with the “Taste”, along with Penfield High School Jazz ensemble. At 5:00 pm the Penfield High School Jazz Combo will take the stage [until about 8:00pm].

The tasting tent opens at 5:00 pm. “Flight Tickets” are on sale at 4:30 pm. Flight Tickets are $1.00 per person** and include a sample from each restaurant, as well as an entry into the “Taste of Penfield” raffle. Tickets are required to sample restaurant signature dishes. [**Yes, the tickets are really just one dollar! A fantastic deal! Bring everybody! You can even purchase additional tickets if you're really hungry and want a tasting round #2.  ] You can view a flyer here.

This year’s restaurants will include CJ’s Grill & Tap Room, Deliciously Different Catering, Guida’s Pizzeria, Hong Wah Chinese Restaurant, Lilian’s Restaurant, Mark’s Pizzeria, Rigatoni’s, Salvatore’s Pizzeria, Starbucks Coffee, The Humphrey House, The Pub at Don’s Original, The Upper Crust, Wegmans, and What’s ‘ur Scoop.

We have enjoyed participating the last two years by providing a variety of delicious cake samples at our table! It was great to meet new people and share about what we do here at the Upper Crust. We are looking forward to it again, and we’ll be doing our usual live cake giveaways at the end of the night! Don’t miss it!
