OPEN HOUSE

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12   10:00am - 6:00pm

Stop by our annual Open House to celebrate the opening of our new bakery location!

There will be lots of free fun for all ages . . .

mouthwatering desserts to sample

hot Fingerlakes coffee

product giveaways and raffle

face-painting

helium balloons

and a bounce house (weather permitting)

We’re designing a custom face-board for silly photographs young and old!

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the amazing Mr. Sprinkles and sweet Queen Frostine.

We will have our retail shop and cafe open, stocked full with our classic products as well as several new additions (read: Red Velvet, Apple Cinnamon Caramel, and/or Cookie Dough Colossal cupcakes)! We are featuring Pittsford Farms Dairy fresh milk (adorable pint size!) in skim, 2%, and real chocolate.

There is plenty of parking in our lot (shared with Ciccone Dentistry) as well as the adjoining public parking area. You are also welcome to park on the street or behind the Penfield Fire Dept. near the Heritage Park (we asked).

This time, there will be plenty of room inside as our new space is nearly triple the size!

Bring the whole family (we love grandparents and kids!), and invite all your friends.

Thanksgiving Week

OUR NEW LOCATION HAS SPECIAL HOURS FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK!

Although our normal business hours are Wed-Sat (8am-6pm), we’re offering an extended schedule this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

We are open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for you to stop by for some holiday treats; as well as Friday and Saturday. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday).

Our hours are the same every day that we are open: 8:00am - 6:00pm.

Please note we are completely booked for special orders through this weekend. So instead, feel free to stop by and pick out some goodies from our display cases! We intend to have all 10 flavors of our Colossal Cupcakes, as well as Harvest & Pilgrim cut-out cookies, our Pumpkin Spice bread, and some Thanksgiving Centerpiece cakes, too. Come check it out!

The Upper Crust Cakery

Open House

this Saturday, November 20

8:00am - 6:00pm

Come visit us for the unveiling of our new location! After several months of remodeling, painting, and planning, we are finally set to open the shop this weekend. The cakery will be open all day, so stop by anytime. Bring your family and friends for free cupcakes and hot coffee. We’ll have balloons for the kids and some awesome cake giveaways! You’re also welcome to browse our display cases and purchase something to take home and enjoy.

We will continue to take advance special orders as before. In addition, the storefront will be open to the general public. Our retail hours will be Wednesdays through Saturdays 8:00am-6:00pm (beginning Saturday Nov. 20). We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, and by-appointment-only on Tuesdays. Next week, however, is Thanksgiving and so our special holiday schedule will be Monday through Wednesday, and Friday through Saturday (closed on Thanksgiving Day).

Our new shop is located at 1793 Penfield Road (south-side of Rt. 441) in Penfield 4 Corners. It’s a little light-brown building directly in between Joey’s Pasta House and the new Joey’s Party House. We share the parking lot there and there are plenty of spots. You can turn directly off Rt. 441 into the driveway. OR, take the “secret entrance” by turning off Five-Mile-Line-Road onto Mott’s Lane, which runs behind all the businesses and connects to the parking lots.

We have some very fun options for spontaneous walk-in clients, that will be available at all times. Our display cases contain a variety of delicious items ready for on-the-spot purchase, including 10 over-the-top flavors of jumbo cupcakes, our famous cut-out butter cookies, and chocolate-fudge and peppermint-frosted brownies just to name a few. [There is a subsequent post coming with complete item and price list of our retail products.]

Thank you for your continued patronage and enthusiasm for the Upper Crust Cakery. We are so excited to have a new presence in the Penfield community, and we look forward to unveiling it this weekend. Mark your calendar to stop by this Saturday!

Taste of Penfield 2009

Monday, August 31st, 2009

At the end of May, we had the great privilege of participating in “Taste of Penfield” event held at the Penfield Veteran’s Memorial Park amphitheater (behind the Town Hall). We had a wonderful time meeting lots of Penfield residents, and sharing our love for cakes with them. Each visitor to the Upper Crust table had a chance to sample three of our most popular cake flavors, along with entering to win and take home one of our three beautiful display cakes!

It was a beautiful afternoon (rain-free this year!) and we had a great time with everyone. Although we were stationed behind our table most of the time, we did get a chance to mingle with some of the other vendors. (And of course, as our annual tradition, I sent my little brother around with a box to collect some pizza, Starbucks smoothie, and other delicious samples for me to try! He’s got the routine down, now!)

If you were there, you know it was a great event and you’ll be back next May! If this is all news to you, keep your next Memorial Day Friday afternoon/evening open and come visit us again. (You can check back here in the spring for updated info and details on the event.) Here’s a few pictures** to give you a “taste”.

** Note: we had a very sad and unfortunate mishap with our Taste of Penfield pictures, and thus have none of our display cakes that we so proudly exhibited. If you happen to have any shots, please, please, let us know! We promise you shall be dually rewarded (will a fantastic cake do?)!

Our fantastic team of cake-platers, tray-fillers, and smilers!

This is one of my silly relatives going in for the kill(er chocolate cake). You can see the big amphitheater int he background!

Here are some of the “fantastic team” AFTER the event. They were so overwhelmed by all the sugar they locked their keys in the car. Good thing another team-mate lived close by with another set!

This is my poor, one-and-only shot of my favorite display cake. If you happen to have a better one, and would share, you would make me very very happy!
